Time to change now jaywalkers.

Its just Thursday. Mid of the week and nothing too interesting either. Odd office hrs has kind of drained away a lot of energy out of my body making it lethargic. Got up early somehow. Only interesting activity I could think of was to update myself with tweets received overnight. Twitter has become my new found interest. I find it more interactive and quick. We can share our thoughts to the exact person just as fast as it comes to ones mind. Thanks to a friend who asked me to get on twitter. So I checked all the tweets and done. What next. Damn this boredom. Suddenly the door bell rings. Oh. It must be the newspaper seller. I rushed to open the door to talk to him on some query. By the time I reached to the door, he was far out of my reach. Why are these vendors so fast. As if skating around and not walking. Tomorrow I will be faster than you mister. You bet.!! Collected the newspaper from the threshold. So what news we have today. Digital India launched by our government must be all...

How it all began!!!

Image
I am actually glad I have joined a group of active, young and vibrant members in connection with Swachha Bharat Abhiyaan. Its been 3-4 months in this team. We select a spot and every Sunday morning our group goes there to clean the area. Its something I look forward to starting every Monday. I wonder how did I end up in this team that is highly concerned with the cleanliness  and keen on changing the city to be a neat one(One of the many concerns for the nation). Well it was not an overnight happening. So how it all began?!! Its a well known fact that anywhere you walk in this country, you are sure to step on some litter or garbage spread around. Be it a vegetable mandi, road, outside school/hospital, railway station/train etc. Someone walking in front of you might just stop and spit backwards or an auto rickshaw driver would spit out gallons that proudly chewed ridiculous pudiya. I remember long back I read a news article where it spoke about people throwing garbage right out...

Chasing Money!!!

Money!!! Money!!! Money!!! I see everyone is busy chasing it. Beggars asking for it outside temples, mosques, railway stations etc. Unemployed educated are in search of jobs, indirectly for money. Also taking illegal immoral means to get even a bit of it. The rich/businessmen are going global in search for more wealth. Taking illegal immoral means to get as much of it as possible. Its as if the world is not revolving around sun. Its revolving around money. In those history lessons taught in school, 1 thing was prominent. Wealth, gems, stones, gold etc attracted our near neighbors from west.Invaders looting and plundering and burning villages/villagers/temples just for a few tonnes of gold. I used to wonder what they did with all the wealth and gold. Were they even able to carry all of them to their home towns or they did fight amongst themselves over more of it somewhere in the middle of their return journey. Could they ever sleep peacefully, aware of so much wealth with them and af...

The clandestine

That overnight yearning Praying for the onset of dawn That sight of my moon The togetherness. Your peace bringing smile, That emerging of dimples. Forgetting everything else. That craziness. Those dark sparkling eyes, Calm as an ocean. Warm with affection. The captivity. That soothing presence. My endless talking, Your tireless listening. The solace. The aimless wandering around walking hand in hand. The velvet touch. That passion. The timely silence, Your mellifluous humming, That favorite song. The hypnotism. The dusk and the moonlight, Bringing me back to reality. The time to let u go. The disparity. That heavy heart, The numbing heartbeat. Cursing the time. The unbearable agony. Living a life in that one day, Waiting for another life everyday. Remembering that place, Remembering that time. Missing that beautiful soul, Missing the clandestine.

Superb Sunday!!!

Past few weeks had been a bit on the negative side. Beset with situations like never before. Got totally consumed in facing them. Tackling some, accepting others.  Such that all the days of the week became just days. No respite. An endless loop I got stuck in. Its said that everyday is not a Sunday. Indeed. Today was different. A Sunday out of the blues. A Sunday unexpected. A day calm, relaxing and spent it my way. A Sunday hard earned. After a long time got a chance to prepare breakfast. That was awesome. Cooking is fun. Rejuvenating. Especially when you do it after a long gap. It made me realize that skills do get lost in time with lack of touch. A pleasant morning it was. Luckily did not schedule any lectures today. That gave me time to work on other means of leveraging my knowledge for money. Worked successfully. Things go smooth with a relaxed mind. And so when it was time for lunch, I suggested my parents to have it at a nearby restaurant. And so we went. Had a lovel...

The omnipresent

I just want your voice aimed at me. I want to absorb the direction of your eyes. And so I focus on your voice, I seek for your eyes. I close my eyes. I pray.   They say there is one heaven and there is one hell. Curious, from land to land I sailed. I stumbled upon you, I realized heaven. With your absence, I burn in hell. To go back to heaven, I fall on my knees. I pray. They say god exists. and they say god loves you unconditionally. To test this, I wandered. In the mosque, the temple and the church. When I stared at those gods, I saw a pretty face smiling back at me. To be with my god again. I pray. They say that god is omnipresent. The beauty of the nature outside, The beautiful memories engraved deep inside all are a reminder of your presence. For your omnipresence, for this epiphany Blissfully,  gratefully, thankfully, I pray.

An unusual Durga Puja celebration!!!

Image
Living in Kolkata has got several advantages. The best being able to enjoy the Durga Puja festival celebrated with its full pomp and show. The city seems to be in a different level of commotion altogether in the festival nights. Any street/ lane you pass through, you will find atleast one Puja pandal established by the local organisers. Whole city is decorated with lightings of various colors and its something worth watching. The decoration is way much better than what it is during diwali. I enjoyed the festival like never before. It so happened that parents went out of station. The friends and relatives I did enjoy the festival last year were unavailable. Hence it gave me an opportunity to do pandal hopping at my whims. So I picked up my camera and off I went. As soon as I stepped out onto the road, the decoration and lighting all around ...
