Chirping of Sparrows
I was thinking about my being so reluctant and lethargic to write posts on my blog and I could manage to approve my my mind flow out some thoughts and let my fingers press some keys and convert those thoughts into the electronic medium. So i signed into my login. To my surprise, its been exactly over 2 years since my last post.
The big question was what topic to write on?. Where to start from.? And then I heard indeed listened to the chirping of sparrows.
I followed the voice and stepped out of my room. What a sight it was. Early morning, low temperature, a host of sparrows spread all across my house and no human intervention for them in particular. They were flying from one corridor to another, to terrace and back. Perhaps in search of food. This reminded me of the fact that this was a daily happening every morning throughout the duration of my school days. I started thinking how long its been since I last saw them searching and collecting food grains in their beaks and how long it has been since I heard their dulcet tones considering this one fact that I have spent not more than 3-4 weeks in my home per year since a long time . mmmmm Around a decade...
What????? A DECADE??!!
The realization was shocking to me. All these years there was not even a single sparrow in my house I could see, where once, years ago they have had nests in every nook and corner.. Immediately I got reminded of a mail I received stating "SPARROWS ARE BACK",reasons we had none in recent years and that when they are back now, what we should do to make sure they stay and not migrate to some other locations for survival.
Now I know how true that mail was and how urgent it was to spread across that cheerful news and with it all the information about sparrows and our responsibilities towards their existence.
Well I cannot directly go and thank the one who composed that mail but I must say that his/her efforts is laudable and that chirping of sparrows is indeed mellifluous.
